It’s getting closer and closer now, in exactly 7 days, or 168 hours, our Packers will be getting ready to leave the Netherlands (or Belgium) behind and travel towards Sweden. We’ll pick up our Packers from Eindhoven, Utrecht and Enschede and then move on into Germany. By that time a total of 78 people will be traveling in a double decker. We will drive towards Osnabruck, go past Bremen and Hamburg and then we’ll get a driver change. The next driver will bring us all the way to Sweden and continue from (just past) Hamburg to Puttgarden.
In Puttgarden, right at the very edge of Germany, we’ll get on a pont and make the 45 minute transit to Rødby, Denmark. It’ll be around 2AM Thursday when we set foot in Denmark and travel onwards towards Kopenhagen. We’ll pass this great city and use the tunnel-bridge combination Oresundbridge to finaly arrive in Sweden. From there on out it’s mostly a simple route past Malmo and Helsingborg for the last bit of darkness. Especially in Winter you’ll feel like you are driving in one of the darkest places in the world.
Most of us will probably fall asleep during the trip, as it takes nearly 18 hours to complete from start to finish. We’ll drive a good 1500 kilometers to get to our destination and hopefully we will arrive right when the event starts, at 8:00AM on Thursday. Albeit it being a long drive it is the perfect way for our Packers to get to know each other. A lot of new friendships are always made and we are looking forward to another great edition of Intel Pack4DreamHack.
Only 168 hours of waiting to go.
