Follow DreamHack Valencia This Weekend

Published on September 20th, 2012

The third stop of the DreamHack Eizo Open will commence this weekend: DreamHack Eizo Open Valencia! For a nice 150.000 SEK (around €15.000), 64 of the worlds best players will clash in the Spanish coast town. Besides that, the first and second place will qualify for the final tournament at DreamHack Winter. The first fourteen players after that will earn valuable points to also qualify for the final tournament. Amongst the 64 players we have four Dutchies: Grubby, Ret, Harstem and PoYo.

Grubby, coming off from his 6th place at WCS Europe last weekend must have a lot of confidence going into this. Ret disappointingly finished 9-12th last weekend, losing to BabyKnight and Grubby. But don’t count him out, Ret has been training in the Ministry of Win for a month now and good practice will eventually pay off. Harstem recently was picked up by Fnatic to develop his skills even further. After his breakthrough performance at DreamHack Summer, he went on to win four matches in NASL’s The Gauntlet, reaching the finals, but losing to EGSuppy. He has now been practicing hard for this tournament and hopes to surprise friend and foe with another good performance. It is safe to say that PoYo is the least known Dutch player. Last weekend PoYo won the Belgian lan Frag-O-Matic, so he is certainly capable of surprising.

Besides our own Dutch players, the tournament is packed with fantastic players. Players like: Taeja, HerO, Stephano, Violet and the Spanish armada: Lucifron and Vortix, who play a home game this DreamHack. The tournament will take place the 22nd and 23rd of September and will be broadcasted with the usual Twitch channel, as well as on Swedish television. Good luck to all competitors!

Also: we are still giving away Paradox Interactive games! So if you want to win some free games, head over and give it a shot!
