The 17th of June, around 2 pm the first group of packers gathered in Eindhoven to leave for Intel Pack4DreamHack 2011 – Summer Edition. After a headcount we were still missing Lordy. A few minutes later he walked out of the Burger King with a whopper menu, and wasn’t allowed into the bus. So he ate his food outside, while the bus driver explained us, the packers already in the bus, why ‘his’ bus and greasy food do not go well together.
We picked-up the rest of the packers in Nieuwegein en Oldenzaal. The storage of the bus filled up fast with pc’s and screens and CRT’s other equipment. But we were able to make it all fit and headed for our final destination, Jönköping – Sweden.
In the bus we received our Pack4Dreamhack t-shirts, sleeping bags and other goodies sponsored by Intel, Medion and Steelseries.
A few movies and stops, in both Holland and Germany, later we took a ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby, and enjoyed the fresh air, drove for a few hours , and again took a ferry from Helsingør to Helsingborg, and took advantage of the opportunity to stretch our legs, smoke a cigarette and enjoy the spectacular view.
Most of us where able to sleep for the last part of the trip until we arrived at our destination, DreamHack Summer 2011 – Jönköping, around 9, tired but excited.
We finally entered the DreamHack / Elmia halls after taking a group picture. We were one of the first groups inside. We found our places and started setting up. The more people came in, the better the atmosphere.
The event will officially start at 4 PM. We are ready and excited for the countdown!
