My name is Hennie and this is my fifth time at DreamHack. In my first year I was a regular participant but I quickly realized that I liked to communicate with the Swedes and the DreamHack crew in particular. In the following years I helped the video crew that comes with us in the bus to arrange interviews and other special opportunities.
I really like the DreamHack festival for the weird people who attend, the unbelievable size of the venue and the excitement you can feel at the end of the event when the big finales are being played. Even though I rarely play a game I’m a big supporter of e-sports and I love it when I see the professionalism keeps growing every year. Not only are the players getting better, but the quality of the whole show around the game keeps getting better every year. Professional Casters that tour the world to entice the game, a nice venue to sit and watch the professionals and decoration that would suite any world famous sport event. I firmly believe that the world is ready for e-sports on tv and support from the general public. If a major sponsor can convince an entire country to watch some sweaty men throw darts on Sunday night, I’m sure we can let e-sports blend into our normal life. Granted, some things need to change, but we are definitely on the right track!
This year I do not have a seat in the row like the other participants ,but I’m in the press area. My job here is to help the videocrew with small tasks and to keep in touch with the DreamHack crew so I can find new and exciting things to share with you, the reader and viewers at home!
One of the movies I am most proud of is the DreamHack Tech interview with Karl Andersson and Rok Podgrajsek that we did in 2011.
