As you might know, Duh-Events doesn’t only organize a trip to the biggest LAN Event in the world via Intel Pack4DreamHack. We also have more events! Besides The-Party, the biggest indoor LAN Event in the Benelux, we also organize the event CampZone. For those that don’t know what CampZone is all about, it is the world’s biggest (and longest) outdoor gaming vacation! And it’s held on their very own field near Eindhoven! For a little less than two weeks a camp is established where 1500 gamers from the Netherlands, and all kinds of other countries, come together to have the vacation of their dreams!
CampZone boasts their own 10Gigabit network solution, offering participants 1000mbit and 100mbit connections where available. The campsite is divided up into six fields, with their own crewgroup, network center and support. There are fields for those that like (very) loud music and on the other side of the campsite there are fields for those that like it quiet and like to listen to the birds in the morning. These fields are all connected through a 10Gbit fiber ring, making sure the network is top of the line. And even if you can’t find an opponent on the network, there is always the internet! Over the years it has gotten better and better with over 800Mbit last year! No promises on speed though!
But wait! There is more! Since CampZone is the only vacation for most of its visitors, there are a lot of cool activities. Things like soapsoccer (yep, put soap on a soccerfield and watch people going on their faces. Something we just love watching all day long) and other physical events are planned through the week. And when we are not making ourselves tired with sports the BBQ comes out! The weather has to be really bad before we skip a BBQ meal during the evenings on CampZone. CampZone also has a so called ‘Maintent’. It’s easily recognisable by being the biggest tent on the field. It hosts all kinds of consoles, has stands from sponsors and has the main stage (sadly not as impressive as the one on DreamHack) where all kinds of competitions and announcements are held.
